Ricoh Americas Corporation Control Systems Engineer in Boulder, Colorado
Join our team that has responsibility for creating next generation automation solutions on a complex Commercial Print inkjet product line, with a focus on research and development. This position requires the ability to develop novel solutions utilizing numerous imaging system inputs, knowledge of control systems, and high-performance code to apply real time updates.
Requires experience applying engineering analysis to solve problems associated with complex integrated systems. Must have broad based R&D skills with strong emphasis on coding in Python and C++. You will closely work with an engineering team with diverse skill sets to develop and integrate next generation automation. Travel up to 10% required.
Duties include:
Work with various development teams to identify and develop strategic and unique solutions
Evaluate proposed development solutions using controlled laboratory and field tests and analyze test results
Invent new mechanisms to automate CF print systems
Develop feedback control for automated printer control
Prepare and present detailed test reports for executive management, and engineering teams as required
Optimization of printer systems via statistical and numerical techniques as well as computer vision/machine learning applications
Required skills
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or similar
Working background with control systems and creating electrical schematics for complex electro/mechanical projects
Working background sizing and layout of AC and DC power systems
Experience with Sensor setup and data acquisition for verifying system performance
Experience with prototype PCB design (Eagle)
Software programming skills using Python, C++, and LabView
Flexible and self-motivated – with a problem solver’s altitude
Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally in a team environment
Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to redirect efforts and change focus in response to changing business needs
Preferred skills
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, or similar
Experience working in Agile development environment
Experience with SQL
Experience with CI/CD
Productize prototype code for product implementation
Experience with image processing and/or Imaging Science
Hands-on experience working with deep learning framework such as Tensorflow
Experience with accelerated computing frameworks such as CUDA
Knowledge of SDK development
Familiarity with electronic imaging devices such as line scan cameras, spectrophotometers, densitometers, etc
Education and experience
- Engineering or equivalent BS/MS degree

Compensation Range $70,000 - $100,000
Position is bonus eligible, 6% STI
