The Gallegos Corporation Marble/Granite Foreman in Basalt, Colorado
Position Summary:
This position is based in the field leading our Marble & Granite installation team. This position has supervisory responsibility of positions in the field to ensure quality and timeliness of installation.
Essential Functions:
Assures a safe workplace with commitment to our 0-accident goal – daily enforcement and clean up as well as weekly safety meeting
Supervision and trade related training of the marble & granite employees
Executes work orders as received from Area President
Assists Marble Shop and Aspen Area President in providing schedule status at weekly schedule meeting. Assures that work already in progress is completed before new work starts.
Assures the quality of the product produced
Manage and stage materials for smooth production, and safe, efficient loading.
Ensures production goals are understood and met by all fabricators and reports work completed daily, including productions, timecards, cut sheets, and inventory reports. Adjusts work strategies daily to maximize production.
Ensures all equipment in the field is maintained in good working order
Ability to organize, schedule, and complete fabrication of stone products as received.
Full knowledge of all fabricating machinery, with ability to operate and troubleshoot problems.
Ability to train and coach entry-level employees to operational capability.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with administration and production personnel.
Requires full body mobility and manual dexterity for operating machinery, equipment and small tools.
Good reading, writing and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of the English language.
Is proficient in the operation ofallequipment
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience in the field installing product
Minimum of 5 experience working with granite, marble, sandstone, tile and other interior finish products
Prior supervisory experience, training may be substituted for experience
Safety training
Working Conditions:
Primarily fabrications shop environment with considerable noise.
Occasionally will travel to outside job sites.
Physical Demands:
The position requires the following physical activities on a regular basis; Stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, handling and repetitive motions.
The maximum amount of weight required to be lifted will be less than 100 pounds.
Work Schedule:
- Eight (8) to ten (10) hour workdays Monday through Friday of each week, with some Saturday work.
Requirements:
Solid industry knowledge of materials and fabrication methods
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work with many types of machinery and equipment
Computer literate
Driver’s license
Blueprint reading and layout capabilities
Ability to lift 100 lbs.
