_NATURE OF WORK_

The candidate will work as a Professional Research Assistant in iC42 Clinical Research and Development, Department of Anesthesiology, and will assist investigators in a range of research projects and in clinical therapeutic drug monitoring

ABOUT iC42 CLINICAL RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

iC42 Clinical Research and Development is a University of Colorado Service Center. It combines quantitative mass spectrometry (drugs, drug metabolites, endogenous compounds and large molecules), metabolomics (LC-MS, GC-MS and magnetic resonance spectroscopy-based) and proteomics under one roof which makes it a very unique facility. iC42 Clinical Research and Development is compliant with the rules of good laboratory practice (cGLP, 21 CFR part 58), is accredited by the College of American Pathologists and CLIA certified. Accordingly, all assays are validated and all analyses are carried out following our standard operation procedures which are based on all applicable CAP, CLSI, ICH, OECD and FDA guidances. iC42 Clinical Research and Development is a global leader in the development and verification of new molecular strategies in clinical translational research and biomarker discovery and research.


SUPERVISION RECEIVED

The candidate will report to Uwe Christians, MD, PhD, iC42 Clinical Research and Development’s Laboratory Director, who will also provide mentorship.


SUPERVISION PROVIDED*

The candidate will supervise undergraduate and junior staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Western blot, immunoassays

  • molecular biology

  • histology and histochemistry

  • sample preparation for proteomics, metabolomics and pharmacokinetic analyses

  • in vitro drug metabolism studies

  • analytics (HPLC, LC/mass spectrometry, NMR spectroscopy)

  • HPLC and LC-MS assay development and validation

  • analysis of clinical samples

  • analysis and supervision of GLP study samples

  • sample receipt and management

  • reference material receipt and handling

  • proficiency testing

  • data management

  • assay development and validation

  • working in and maintaining a GLP and CAP-compliant environment

  • project management

  • assistance with publication and presentation of data report writing

  • maintenance of regulatory compliance (GLP)
