We are seeking applications for a Professional Research Associate with a strong background in immunology and flow cytometry. The applicant will have experience designing multicolor flow cytometry panels and performing and analyzing flow cytometry data for both their own research project and for preclinical animal studies of IBD and clinical studies of immunotherapeutic drugs for blood cancers studies. Research projects will be focused on the immunology of host:microbe interactions in HIV and SARS-CoV-2 T cell immunity. The applicant will also help to support a small flow cytometry core facility by training users to operate flow cytometers, cell sorting on a FACSFusion and FACSAria, and maintain instruments. The applicant should also have experience with mouse dissection and generation of single cell suspension from various mouse tissues as well as isolation of PBMC from blood. The applicant should be self-motived and have strong problem-solving skills. The lab has stable funding and is looking for a long-term employee. The applicant will enjoy working in a large, fun, easy-going lab with many opportunities for acquiring new skills. Highly competitive salary will be offered for qualified applicants.

Flow cytometry-based studies of host:microbe interaction and SARS-CoV-2
Support flow facility - QC of flow cytometry instruments and performing cells sorts
Training facility users to operate flow cytometers
Competency with FlowJo and other analysis platform for flow and Cytof
Consistent communication skills with team
Communication with instrument support services
Knowledge of clinical flow cytometry instruments QC is a plus
Isolation of PBMC from blood
Generation of single cell suspension from mouse tissues
Preparation of flow cytometry SOPs and presentation at internal, institutional, and external meetings
Team player, willing to assist in various other projects as needed
Salary and Benefits: .
The salary range ( or hiring range ) for this position has been established at $44,500 to $77,000. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Bachelor’s degree in Immunology, Biology or related science
3-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Master’s degree or PhD
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience in analysis of high dimensional data using R language or the equivalent tools
Knowledge of biostatistics
2 years of experience on >8 color polychromatic flow staining and analysis.
