Professional Research Assistant

The Professional Research Assistant (PRA) will work within the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine in Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The role will be to coordinate the daily activities required to conduct clinical research protocols, recruitment and enrollment of research participants, schedule study participant clinic visits, accurately record and enter data, respond to data queries from study sponsors, and support physician investigators. The position may be split between Denver Health and the Anschutz Medical Campus. The PRA in this position will not be called on to make independent medical decisions at any time, but a solid fundamental knowledge of biological and medical sciences is necessary for this position. Additionally, an appreciation of accepted methods of clinical research is highly desirable.
Examples of Work Performed:
Subject recruitment and retention, facilitate study visits and complete intake information, recording of clinical information, data entry, data query resolution and analyzation for submission to grantor or for publication, venipuncture, maintenance of certification and communication with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the sponsoring agency or its designee.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Screen, recruit and consent research subjects at both University of Colorado and/or Denver Health
Accurate data collection and data entry
Phlebotomy (training offered if not already certified)
Collect, process and ship biological specimen
Issue study subject payments (SSPs) and maintain recordkeeping of SSPs in database
Conduct follow-up phone interviews, schedule clinic visits
Assist with regulatory submissions
Assist with study-specific capitation and allocation of expenses
Assist with maintenance of research folders
Maintain study regulatory binders
Collaborate with other research personnel and groups on a variety of studies
Maintenance of study specific certifications, COMIRB training, computer training and other hospital required training
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $42,000 to $55,000.
The above salary rate represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with a fundamental knowledge of biology and medical science
Two years’ experience working in clinical research
Experience working in a healthcare setting
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
