Nature of Work
Beat Vögeli’s newly started laboratory on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is looking for a highly motivated research assistant to work on exciting projects focusing on conformation and communication networks within and between proteins and nucleic acids by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and other biophysical methods. The nature of the work will be primarily wet bench work in molecular biology and biochemistry. Current research assistants or recent college graduates will be considered. Recent graduates looking for additional research experience before applying to graduate school are welcome. A minimum of one year of commitment is required. Alternatively, those looking for a longer-term or permanent staff position are also welcome to apply.
This position will report directly to Dr. Vögeli who will provide constructive feedback. The person in this position will be asked to pass on training that they have received relevant to their work to students, postdoctoral fellows, and other research assistants that may join Dr. Vögeli’s laboratory.

Recombinant protein expression and purification; cloning; RNA transcription and purification; biochemical assays; laboratory management
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $35,500 to $55,000 per annum, and is negotiable with skills and experience. The University of Colorado offers a full benefits package. A bachelor’s degree in biology or related field plus a minimum of 1-2 years research experience
Knowledge in molecular biology with a focus on protein expression and purification
Additional background in RNA sample preparation is preferred
Ability to organize and present data generated during experiments
