Strategic Satellite Communications Operations Engineer
Raytheon Intelligence & Space has a position for an Operations Engineer with strong experience in the operations of strategic military communications satellites (MILSATCOM).
The Operations Engineer will represent the operational view provide guidance, and lead operational support for a large, complex program in a challenging and dynamic environment.
This position requires the specialized expertise and organizational capability to meet Department of Defense (DoD) demanding mission technical and operational objectives.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible for providing the operational mission planning user point of view from both operational and remote support locations.
Bring real-world experiences to a collaborative software development team to define and shape the displays and workflow that guides the users through their role and responsibility in the overall mission planning process (User Centered Design)
Serve as the official point of contact for customer and operations community and maintain close liaison with various stakeholders creating a spirit of partnership that provides business and technical advice and ensures the success of the program
Define and manage program, prototype, or demonstration development to meet operational requirements or use case scenario objectives
Work with co-workers as well as subcontractor personnel and assure seamless user focused capabilities and performance
The selected candidate will work in close cooperation with Government customers, as well as Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) and Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) development and sustainment contractor personnel
The primary job location for the position is on location in Aurora or Colorado Springs, Colorado
The position requires occasional travel within the United States
US Citizenship and current active DoD-Secret clearance that can evolve to a Top Secret (TS) Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance
At least 5 years of leadership experience in operations and sustainment of DoD strategic MILSATCOM (AEHF, EPS) mission planning, scheduling, operations, command and control
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Comfortable giving technical briefings to senior Department of Defense personnel
DoD strategic MILSATCOM (AEHF) ground systems, networks, terminals experience
At least 4 years of experience working with the DoD including knowledge of Records Management, Training, Technical Orders, and Operations programs
Experience with multiple DoD program phases including development, production, and sustainment
Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution and 8 years of relevant experience.
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $98,700 to $187,500; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
