Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGS{) seeks to fill a Manager Level 3 Software Engineering position in the Engineering function for our Aurora, Colorado location. This is a dual role encompassing both functional management and technical performance within a program.

This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success collaborating and leading technical teams.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Technical contributor or manager in a program role as part of the Aurora Engineering Leadership management team.

  • Functional oversight for a team of engineers of varied disciplines, i.e. software, systems administrators, etc.

  • Staffing and workload forecasting; employee inclusion, engagement, mentoring and career development; employee training and identification and training of skills required to execute on programs.

  • Recruiting, sourcing, onboarding, performance management and contract maintenance for contractors working in the business area as required.

Qualifications:

You'll Bring These Qualifications: (Basic)

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline

  • 10 years of technical experience in any combination of Systems and Software engineering disciplines accompanied by high proficiency in technical problem solving to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation and monitoring; 8 years of related experience with a Masters; 6 years of related experience with a PhD

  • Previous experience in people management roles, preferably in a functional environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in driving a team toward meeting cost, schedule, and technical performance for complex programs and/or IRADs, leveraging innovation as necessary.

  • Working knowledge of functional management skills such as Staffing, Engineering Metrics, Training resources, functional processes, and tools

  • This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain and hold a Top Secret/SCI clearance

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: (Preferred)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical discipline

  • Active Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance

  • Experience in all aspects of the engineering development lifecycle

  • Effective communication and presentation skills
