Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for you to join our team as an Engineer Field - Space Operations Staff based out of Aurora, CO.
What You'll get to Do:
This position has two major areas of responsibility (AOR).
The first AOR is to attain and maintain space operations crew qualification as a System Crew Chief (SCCH).
The first AOR is that of SCCH who provides technical capability in the area of Telemetry, Tracking and Commanding (TT&C) and Ground Control.
Analyze and optimize system software and test for appropriate commanding, tracking and telemetry monitoring capability.
The SCCH commands and executes promoted tasking schedules.
Monitor all ground status as required, report system status to the crew commander and provide technical recommendations for system issues and anomaly response.
The SCCH works across internal and external organizations to ensure appropriate information is available for execution of payload/satellite operations.
Analyze system upgrades to show appropriate dependencies, risks and impacts. Ensure system upgrades are integrated to meet operational and configuration requirements.
The second AOR is to perform duties and responsibilities as a member of the space operations staff.
The second AOR is a staff member of the operations directorate.
Duties and responsibilities are defined by the branch they are assigned to.
These branches include, but not limited to, Training, Standardization and Evaluation, Current Operations, and Rehearsals.
Individual will perform support functions as defined in each branch while maintaining SCCH qualification.
Additional duties may be assigned commensurate on performance or due to business needs.
Education/Experience: 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters; 4 years with an Associate, or 6 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Top Secret security clearance that is or has been active within the past two years
Able to obtain and maintain SCI
Must be willing and able to work a continuously rotating shift schedule, which includes weekends and holidays, supporting 24/7 operations.
Must have the ability to work and travel between 2 locations, Aurora, CO., and Boulder, CO
Degree within the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field
SBIRS Ground Systems experience and/or Telemetry, Tracking and Commanding (TT&C) experience a plus.
