The Intelligence Group at Leidos currently has an opening for an Automated Test Engineer to work at our Annapolis Junction, MD location. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience supporting an important, fast-paced, mission critical program. If the ideal candidate is found, he/she may work in our San Diego or Aurora, Colorado locations. Approximately 5% travel will be required if located in CA or CO (2-4 days every 12 weeks).
Job Summary:A Developer/Tester is needed to configure and implement automated testing of software using Microfocus Unified Functional Test as part of an Automated Testing Team. As an Agile cross-functional team member, additional duties include executing system level and defect tests.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:• Develop consistent, reusable and reliable methods for automated testing.• Work in Lean-Agile environment as a cross-functional team member developing and executing automated tests, and performing manual tests.• Engineer, author, tune and document automation scripts in a development environment and deploy to the test/production bench.• Apply consistent, reusable, and reliable automated testing methods.• Promote code reuse and cross-program collaboration while reducing maintenance costs by creating common functions and shared actions for developers and testers.• Execute system level tests using published procedures.• Perform defect testing using ad hoc or published procedures.
Basic Qualifications:• A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and at least 8 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for a degree.• At least 3 years of experience in software development or a software integration environment.• Must be proficient and swift with scripting.• Must have advanced writing and testing skills using automation principals.• Must possess strong knowledge and understanding of systems engineering principals, including system design and architecture, software interface definition and control, software integration, and test.• Must have experience with one or more of the following: Java, PERL, PowerShell, VBS, eclipse, PostgreSQL, Jenkins on a Windows platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:• Experience using automated test tools (e.g., Unified Functional Test, Selenium, Cucumber).• Experience with programming and scripting languages (e.g., Java, Perl, Python or others).• Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and Test Driven Development (TDD).
