If you are seeking to workin a get-it-done atmosphere with an exceptional team of talentedengineers, machinists and technicians who make a difference in our world,that supports your development, and recognizes your achievements, BNI isthe plPosition Details:The Project Engineer will provide oversight on programs from inception toshipment; including analysis, design, manufacturing oversight,assembly, and test of mechanical/electrical turbomachinery assemblies.Also perform additional design tasks for conventional turbomachinerysystems, including propulsion machinery, cyclic energy conversionsystems, cryogenic pumps, blowers. Projects may include additions toand/or modifications to existing systems, equipment and machinery.Duties and Responsibilities: Lead projects to meet all customer requirements, including technicalcapability, schedule milestones, and budgetary constraints. Lead clean sheet engineering efforts and apply engineering principles todefine and analyze the design. Direct and review the work of other engineers and mechanical designersin the layout and detailed design tasks to ensure a cost effective andmanufacturable design. Review designs and working drawings to determine that they conform toproject specifications and requirements. Perform programmatic activities such as creating and maintaining projectbudgets, schedules and formal design reviews. Develop assembly and test plans and specify/procure associated testhardware. Coordinate component and/or rig testing, prepare results and deriveconclusions. Validate and document product acceptance through testing at on-sitefacilities. Ensure customer satisfaction by providing updated information throughoutthe project. Resolve technical challenges through broad technical knowledge ofturbomachinery and related electromechanical systems. Analyze and optimize turbomachinery-related electromechanical and fluidsystems. Perform increasingly challenging calculations involving heat transfer,structural and rotating component stress analysis, aerodynamics, cycleanalysis, component sizing, etc. Effectively function in a team environment to drive organizational success. Work with sales department to assist in fully specifying customerrequirements. Coordinate with the on-site manufacturing group to ensure a successfulproject and address manufacturing issues as they arise. Actively support manufacturing and procurement during project execution. Address manufacturing issues as they arise and help develop processimprovements.Qualifications:To qualify for this position, an individual must possess the knowledge,training, experience and abilities required.Education and Training Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineeringor equivalent combination of education and experience working in high aptitudemanufacturing environmentExperience: Ten years related experience and/or training in a project engineer role. Proven rotating machinery expertise and experience with associated systems Comprehensive understanding of rotating machinery design, analysis,test, and troubleshooting. Comprehensive understanding in the following applicable areas ofturbomachinery electromechanical design:o Mechanical (rotordynamics, stress, thermal, bearings, seals)o Permanent Magnet Motor Designo Rotordynamic
